The Frank Edwards Tyler Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Kansas (KU) in Lawrence, KS, Stephen J. Ware has written four books and 44 law review articles among other pieces. His work has been cited by the Supreme Court and in more than 32 federal or state court cases. Over the course of his career, Stephen Ware has testified before multiple state legislatures as well as both the US Senate and House of Representatives.

Before joining the faculty of KU Law in 2003, Professor Ware instructed students at six different law schools, including the Samford University's Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama, where was on the faculty for ten years. His academic interests range from Judicial Selection to Alternative Dispute Resolution, with a particular focus on Arbitration.

Outside the classroom, Stephen Ware is an elected member of the American Law Institute and has served as an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association and on the editorial board of the Journal of Legal Education.
